Phytate and Phytase in Broilers --a Review
نویسنده
چکیده
The vegetable feed ingredients used in the preparation of poultry feed contains nearly two thirds of the phosphorus as phytates. The phytates are not only indigestible /unavailable but also are known to interfere with the utilization of other nutrients. Apart from the anti-nutritional effects the phytates bind with other minerals and make them unavialble to the birds. One of the best ways to overcome the ill effects of the phytate is by the use of phytate degrading enzymes (phytase). Hence the present work was undertaken to review the antinutritive effects and by the use of phytase how to ameliorate the ill effects.

The Effect of Phytase Enzyme on the Performance of Broiler Flock (A-Review)
From the last few years, the inclusion of microbial phytase in poultry diets has increased significantly, mainly in response to heightened concerns over phosphorus pollution of the environment and as cheaper means to make phosphorus available to birds from phytate. Phytate is the major form of phosphorus, abundantly found in cereal grains, beans and oilseed meals used in poultry diet but the mo...
متن کاملBroiler Performance in Response to Phytate and Supplemented Phytase
Phosphorus (P) is a macro mineral in broiler nutrition. In growing broilers, besides its requirement for proper bone development, it is also involved in almost all metabolic processes. Poor P availability results in decreased productivity and poor health status.Phosphorus availability from plant derived feeds is affected by an anti-nutritional factor “phytate”, which forms a variety of insolubl...
متن کاملEffects of phytate and phytase on the performance and immune function of broilers fed nutritionally marginal diets.
The effects of phytate and phytase on broiler performance and cellular and humoral immunity was assessed by using 504 Cobb 500 female broilers fed nutritionally marginal diets. At 1 d of age, the chicks were randomly allocated to 6 treatments in a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement including 2 levels of phytate P (0.22 or 0.44%) and 3 dose rates of an Escherichia coli-derived phytase [0, 500, or 1,000...
متن کاملContribution of intestinal- and cereal-derived phytase activity on phytate degradation in young broilers.
There is little consensus as to the capability of poultry to utilize dietary phytate without supplemental phytase. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to examine the extent to which endogenous phytase of intestinal and cereal origin contributes to phytate degradation in birds aged 0 to 14 d posthatch. Ross 308 broilers (n = 720) were fed one of 4 experimental diets with differing dietary ing...
